Vestibular Rehabilitation

Patients experiencing vertigo benefit from Vestibular Rehabilitation Therapy (VRT). Vertigo can affect a patient’s quality of life and contribute to emotional problems such as anxiety and depression. At LPT, we work with patients to identify the cause of the vertigo and then develop a treatment plan based on these findings. When you undergo VRT with us, you will be working on compensatory strategies and balance training to minimize your symptoms.

Concussion Rehabilitation

Concussion is a type of traumatic brain injury. The CDC estimates that over 3 million concussions occur in the United States each year, though the number that are recognized and treated is only a fraction of this.  Concussions can affect an individual’s ability to return to sport, school, and/or work as well as result in difficulties with concentration, memory, learning, and emotions.

At Leonardo Physical Therapy we are trained to treat concussions. We focus on head and neck pain, vestibular dysfunction, and balance disorders that occur as a result of the concussion. When you are ready to return to work or sport, we help guide you through that process to make sure you will be able to manage the tasks required of you.

Balance, Gait and Fall Prevention

The CDC estimates that over 1/3rd of people over the age of 65 fall each year and 20-30% of those suffer moderate to severe injuries. At LPT, we utilize evidence based balance assessments that allow us to determine your risk of falls and then develop individualized treatment plans to improve your gait and balance to reduce your risk of falls.
